• ‘World's largest potato gun' for space launches in works at Alameda Point (mercurynews.com) — A space-launch startup has picked a remote desert site near Tonopah to test-fire what it calls the world’s largest “potato gun” for launching payloads into orbit. The Alameda-based company, Longshot Space Technologies, plans to use compressed hydrogen gas instead of rockets, aiming to dramatically cut the cost of sending infrastructure and equipment into space.
