Massachusetts Woman Injured In Snowmobile Accident In Northern New Hampshire

TWIN MOUNTAIN, NH — A Norwood woman was transported to the hospital Wednesday morning following a snowmobile accident on the Pipeline Trail.

Wednesday at 10:40 a.m. on Feb/ 25, New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers were alerted to the crash by New Hampshire State Police dispatch. Twin Mountain Fire and EMS personnel staged near Route 302 before navigating the trail system to reach the scene.

The operator, identified as Olivia Elliot, 27, of Norwood, MA, was traveling with a riding companion when the pair attempted to pass a trail groomer.

According to investigators, after passing the groomer, Elliot attempted to return to the right side of the trail while navigating a left-hand turn, where she began to drift off the groomed path.

While attempting to steer back onto the trail, she inadvertently engaged the throttle, causing the snowmobile to strike a tree.

Elliot was treated at the scene and subsequently transported by ambulance to Littleton Regional Healthcare. Officials described her injuries as minor.

Following an on-scene investigation, conservation officers cited inexperience as the primary factor contributing to the crash.
