Amherst Police Log: Elderly Man Charged with Resisting

Plus, teens from Peterborough arrested on various charges and a car strikes a deer on Route 101.

Incidents

  • 1:34 p.m. on May 2, 2015: Amherst Police Department responded to a three-car accident on Route 101A at North Hollis Road. No injuries were reported.
  • 7:43 a.m. on May 4: Police responded to a single vehicle accident on Route 101. No injuries were reported.
  • 3:58 p.m. on May 4: Police investigated a two-car accident in the Wilkins School parking lot.
  • 8:46 p.m. on May 7: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident on Milford Street. No injuries were reported.
  • 7:49 p.m. on May 11: Amherst Police Department responded to a single vehicle accident on Route 101 (car v. deer). No injuries were reported.

Arrests

Morgan Palmer, 18, of Peterborough, was arrested at 1:27 p.m. on May 8, on a charge of disorderly conduct, as well as on an electronic bench warrant issued by the Milford District Court. Palmer was released on $1,000 PR bail on the Amherst charge, with an arraignment date set for June 4, 2015, at the Milford District Court.

Evan Corliss, 19, of Peterborough, was arrested at 2:36 p.m. on May 8, on charges of possession of a controlled drug and transportation of a controlled drug. Corliss was released on $1,000 PR bail, with an arraignment date set for June 4, 2015, at the Milford District Court.

Amos Hoskins, 70, of Amherst, was arrested at 1:51 p.m. on May 13, on charges of hindering apprehension or prosecution and resisting arrest. Hoskins was held in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, and was arraigned in the Nashua District Court on May 14, 2015. According to the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript, Hoskins was reportedly harboring Ashley Leighton in his new home in Amherst the week before. She was previously arrested in Amherst on numerous warrants from the Rochester Police Department in January.
