Expect Fun at the Southern NH Expo

The Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce event on Oct. 18, is expected to be the largest business expo in New Hampshire.

The Southern NH Expo will open its doors to the public on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. at the Hampshire Dome on Emerson Road in Milford.

Nearly 200 vendors will be ready to greet you and share with you some of what makes it so unique and wonderful to live, work and raise a family in the Souhegan Valley. In addition to many opportunities for food, fun and friendly conversation, we’re proud to bring you a dynamic array of entertainment on our big center stage. Please take a few minutes to check out the following performers and local businesses who are donating their time and talents to bring a smile to your face.

West Street Beat, the elite auditioned choir of five guys and nine girls from Milford High School, will kick off our main stage entertainment at 10:45. Directed by Jennifer Erdody, their repertoire will feature Pharrell Williams’ Happy, the 1968 hit, Son of a Preacher Man and an a cappella rendition of One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story.

At 11:30, our first-ever Fashion Show will take over the stage, featuring three retailers who are proud Chamber of Commerce members. Pastiche Boutique recently opened their shop on Union Square in Milford where they have established a creatively unique and intimate setting featuring apparel, accessories, home decor and accent furnishings. Saks Off 5th Avenue seeks to inspire customer confidence and style with their wide array of current trends at their spacious store in the Merrimack Premium Outlets. Darlene’s Boutique, located in Salzburg Square in Amherst, will round out the show with styles for every body shape: swimsuits from Brazil, wrap ups by VP, Dear Bowie robes and Oprah best pick satin loungewear.

Mad Science of So. NH and No. MA will edutain your children at 12:30 with their “Up, Up & Away!” show. Their Mad Scientist will teach kids about the many uses of that much misunderstood state of matter, gas, as volunteers from the audience attempt to pull apart the Magdeburg sphere while being amazed at the power of air.

The Dance Company of Amherst returns to our stage at 1:15 with and all ages dance routine.

Come see the fun and exciting twirls, tosses and tricks that the baton twirlers of Rhythmic Revolutions do with a silver stick! Twelve performers ranging in age from five to 15 are excited to showcase their skill, rhythm and grace once again this year at 2:00.

Square One is a new, up and coming barbershop style quartet that looks forward to singing for you at 2:45. Hear love songs, doo wop and Broadway tunes, and experience their unique on-stage personality that is fun to watch!

The timeless sights and sounds of the Nutcracker ballet will grace our stage when Vouli Dance brings a preview of this beloved holiday tradition to life. The talented young dancers from this Amherst studio will entertain Expo visitors at 3:30.

Our final stage act at 4:15 will feature young actors from the Riverbend Youth Company performing scenes from their upcoming production. Come get a sneak peek at a medley of songs and scenes from Scrooge, to be presented in November at The Amato Center for the Performing Arts.
