Fire Danger in NH Still High
Brush fires around the state causing issues; fire officials issue Statewide Class 2 alert.

Fire and rescue teams all around New Hampshire have been busy in recent weeks due to the dry land, wind, and lack of humidity in the air, weather and land conditions that are causing brush fires.
Twice last week, alerts were posted warning residents not to burn outdoor fires. Some communities, like Bedford, are not issuing permits. Yesterday afternoon on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack near the Nashua line, a carelessly disposed of cigarette is believed to have caused a brush fire along the highway.
While yesterday’s rain may have helped matters a bit, this morning, the Northeast Fire Alerts issued a warning to media outlets alerting them that the predicted fire danger for today was a Statewide Class 2 designation threat level.
