Manchester Police have arrested a man for an alleged road rage incident yesterday in the Queen City.

According to a report, a Pembroke man flagged down a police officer at a construction detail after allegedly being threatened by Lafreniere.

The man told the officer that while driving on the Amoskeag Bridge around 12:30 p.m., he was cut off by a Subaru Impreza. The man alleged that the driver, later identified as Lafreniere, “cut him off before slamming on his brakes, which caused (the man) to take immediate action to avoid a crash,” according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department.

Both vehicles exited toward Canal Street and continued south, according to the report, and during that time, Lafreniere allegedly “pulled along side of his vehicle and displayed a black handgun in his window,” according to police. The man alleged that Lafreniere’s vehicle had four other people in the vehicle including two children. Police later learned that the children were 1- and 4-years-old.

Police contacted Lafreniere and he agreed to meet with detectives at the police station to discuss the incident. Detectives later charged him with criminal threatening.

“They were unable to locate a handgun, but they did locate a knife inside of his vehicle,” O’Keefe noted.

Lafreniere is due in court on May 4.

Lafreniere, according to a post online, is an avid street racer and has been since 2010, describing himself as getting involved at a very young age, since the first “Fast and Furious” film.
