Aaron Hernandez Suicide Note Released
In his letter to his fiancée, Aaron Hernandez wrote that his suicide was part of God's plan.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — One of three suicide letters written by Aaron Hernandez was released Friday. Through court documents, prosecutors made public the letter the convicted murderer and former New England Patriot wrote to his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez. Hernandez wrote two more letters — one to their daughter and one to a friend in prison. Neither has been released.
In the letter, Hernandez says his death is part of God's plan, and he includes an apparent reference to the 1999 Savage Garden song "I Knew I Loved You." Read the full letter below. (Subscribe to your local Patch for news and updates.)

The documents indicates that suicide may have been on the mind of the former New England Patriots tight end. He told a fellow inmate that he heard a rumor that his murder conviction could be vacated by his death. A murder conviction which is in the appeals process can be vacated if the person involved dies before the appeals process is over, according to state law.
Other inmates interviewed said he was excited during the weekend after his not guilty ruling, describing their conversations with Hernandez as "nothing out of the ordinary. One source claiming to be one of Hernandez's closest friend stated "Since Friday's verdict he had been talking about the NFL and going back to play even if it wasn't with the Pats. He walked about his daughter and spending time with her." There was absolutely no indication that he would do anything like that."

Hernandez was serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd when he hanged himself on April 19, days after he was found not guilty of a 2012 South Boston double murder.
The full police report on his death states that Hernandez was naked and hanging in his jail cell at about 3 a.m. Officials struggled to enter the cell due to a piece of cardboard that jammed the door closed and a large amount of shampoo on the floor, making Hernandez hard to reach.
At UMass Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster, officials found marks on his neck, a cut on his finger, large circular blood marks on his feet and “John 3:16” written in ink on his forehead.
Camera footage confirmed that no one went into the cell after 8 p.m. the previous evening. Several drawings were found in the cell, along with a Bible opened to the verse John 3:16 and the three notes.
