Souhegan Sabers End Regular Season With 8-8 Record
The varsity baseball team ended their season with a loss against Goffstown.

The regular season for the Souhegan High School baseball team came to an end with the Sabers dropping a 3 to 1 contest to the Goffstown Grizzles. The loss ended the Sabers season with an 8 win and 8 loss record.
The team will now wait until Monday to see where they will travel to in the first round of the Division II play-offs.

Junior Tyrell Torres pitched his first varsity game and his effort was outstanding. Pitching a complete game, allowing seven hits while striking out four and walking one batter, Tyrell kept the Sabers in the contest through out.
The Souhegan defense was strong throughout the game and was led by shortstop Tyler Ford and third baseman Robert Graham. Catcher Cameron Crook threw out an attempting base stealer, and left field Eric Howard napped a would be run at the plate when he threw a strike from left field to Cameron Crook in the sixth inning to end a Grizzle rally.

Cameron Crook led the seventh inning off with a double to right center and scored when Chris Chininis drag bunt single was misplayed to cut the lead to 3 to 1.
In the seventh, the Sabers rallied with one out when Terry Dugdale reached base on an infield single, and Tim Beliveau reached first on a passed ball, but the rally came to an end.
