• After years of debate, the Mill Pond Dam removal is now underway in Durham (nhpr.org) — Barrington residents live at the headwaters of the Oyster River, which is being restored as Durham removes the historic Mill Pond Dam this fall. As the pond is drained and the river returns to a free‑flowing tidal system, regional water quality, fish migration, and wildlife habitat are expected to improve along the river’s path through Barrington, Lee, and Madbury.
