At around 2 a.m. this morning, police were called to Ahern Street after a victim reported being beaten outside of the Elmwood Gardens public housing project. Devoe “lured” the woman by calling her and requesting a ride, according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police. When she arrived, she knocked on the door, and was met by Ricker – and the two women began to argue.

“So, the victim turned away, and walked toward her vehicle, in an attempt to leave the area,” O’Keefe alleged. “Devoe allegedly hit her in the back of the head as she walked away which caused her to fall. He pinned her to the ground while striking her several times with a black handgun.”

Ricker, he alleged, then went to the victim’s car and reportedly removed another handgun from her vehicle, handed it to Devoe, and began kicking the victim – while Devoe allegedly held her down.

“Devoe threatened to end the victim’s life as he placed a gun in her mouth but eventually got up and walked toward the house,” O’Keefe stated. “Devoe and Ricker retreated back to their residence while the victim fled the area.”

The victim called police and officers arrived at the scene. They attempted to get Devoe and Ricker to vacate the home and later, they reportedly came out and were arrested.

O’Keefe stated that the victim was treated at a local hospital for a broken hand and multiple facial lacerations. Detectives would be following-up on the case and requesting a warrant to search the home.

Devoe and Ricker were held and arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North earlier today.

Devoe, according to Boston Police, was arrested back in October 2008, when he was 17, for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a firearm with an altered, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and carrying a loaded firearm.
