• Former Town Councilor Bill Carter is Bedford's new town clerk (unionleader.com) — Bedford has a new town clerk: former town councilor Bill Carter was sworn in Tuesday to complete the first year of a three-year term after Sally Kellar’s resignation. Carter, a longtime election volunteer and past council chair, is already preparing for upcoming elections and says he plans to run in March for the remaining two years of the term.

Prosecutors say he misrepresented the casino’s revenue, then spent much of the money on luxury cars and property expenses. He faces potential prison time and a substantial fine under federal law.
