Bedford Town, School Election Voter's Guide: March 28

Here is everything you need to know about the March 28 town and school elections in Bedford, New Hampshire.

BEDFORD, NH — Voters in Bedford go to the polls on March 28 to make decisions about town and school budgets as well as political positions, warrant articles, and other issues.

Voting

Voting will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at Bedford High School, in the gym, at 47 Nashua Road.

Town Races, Info

Voters in town have one competitive race.

Lori Radke and William Carter are the only two candidates on the ballot for two three-year town council seats.

Three candidates are running for one one-year seat: Joseph Fahey II, Becky Soule, and Michael Strand.

Sally Kellar is running unopposed for town clerk.

Lawrence Cheetham is running unopposed for trustee of the trust funds.

Jerry Hanauer is running unopposed for library trustee.

Voters in Bedford will also vote to approve a charter commission as well as nine of 22 candidates to serve if approved.

Nine zoning amendments are on the ballot.

Voters will decide whether to borrow nearly $4.4 million for a solar array.

School Info, Races

Voters have two competitive school board races.

Five candidates are running for two three-year seats: Bill Foote, Sue Jennato, Chelsey Lewis, Sheila MacDonald, and Sean Monroe.

Kevin Coventry, Jeremy Dupuis, and Kara LaMarche are all running for a single one-year seat.

Voters will also decide whether to spend $828,000 to enhance security at town schools and union contracts.

A $85.2 million school budget will also be considered with a default budget of $84.9 million if not approved.

The budgetary town meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on March 15, at Bedford High School.
