Bedford Celebrates Little League All-Stars Tonight

Venue changed due to anticipated rain.

This past Sunday, Bedford's 11- and 12-year-old Little League all-stars, already NH District 1 champions, by defeating D-II champ Lamprey River, 14-0, in the second of a best of three title tilt.

Monday, Bedford's 10- and 11-year old all-stars accomplished a similar feat, knocking off perennial power Portsmouth to win sit on a throne of its own.

And whether it's the Matty Dobens champs, the 9- and 10-year olds (state semifinalists), the younger Jimmy Fund teams (still playing) or the wooden bat team, each Bedford squad has experienced marked success.

To honor the accomplishments of these dozens of accomplished young athletes – and to provide a proper send-off for the 11- and 12-year-olds as they take aim at the Little League World Series by heading to Bristol, Conn. next week to compete in the New England regionals – Bedford Little League board members, coaches and parents have organized a celebration tonight.

Though the original venue was suppose to be at HoSang Field, at the Little League Complex on Nashua Road, forecasted rain has forced the event indoors, where organizers have secured Sullivan Arena at Saint Anselm College (see attached map) for the festivities. The event begins at 7 tonight and is expected to extend no later than 8:30.
