The analysis details how housing shortages are reshaping commuting, hiring, and long-term economic growth, offering Bedford residents context for local market pressures and workforce challenges.
   

5. Recovering truck from Merrimack River took combined effort of dozens of personnel (wmur.com) — Bedford firefighters were among the first on scene when a box truck crashed off I-293 into the Merrimack River, prompting a complex rescue and recovery involving more than 80 personnel. The driver escaped by clinging to a narrow brace as Bedford Fire, Manchester Fire, Fish and Game, DOT and tow crews coordinated to safely lift the truck out and begin repairs to the damaged bridge barrier.
