Bedford Fire Victim Identified

Local man perished in Elk Drive fire on Sept. 6, 2015. Fire officials say there is no indication of any criminal act connected to the blaze.

New Hampshire State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan, Bedford Fire Chief Scott Wiggin, and Bedford Police Chief John J. Bryfonski announce that the fatal fire victim from Sunday night’s fire at 23 Elk Drive in Bedford has been positively identified and the cause and manner of death determined.

As a result of an autopsy that was conducted yesterday at the New Hampshire State Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim has been positively identified as Alan Ouellette, 53 of Bedford, according to a press statement. The cause of death was smoke inhalation and the manner of death was deemed accidental.

The joint-investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is still ongoing by the participating agencies, but there is no indication of any criminal act associated with this case.
