Bedford Man Busted with $190K Worth of Pot, MDMA: NHSP

Brett Delong was arrested after state police reportedly intercepted a suspicious package before it was delivered to his home.

BEDFORD, NH – A local man was arrested and held on $25,000 cash bail yesterday after being busted on drug dealing charges, according to a press statement.

Brett M. Delong, 28, of North Amherst Road in Bedford, was arrested on June 9, 2016, and charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute-MDMA, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute-marijuana, and manufacturing of a controlled drug-marijuana, all felonies.

The state police’s Mobile Enforcement Team reportedly intercepted a “suspicious package” being shipped to a Bedford house after a K-9 unit alert, according to Sgt. Mark Hall of the NHSP.

NHSP applied for and received a search warrant and found that the package allegedly contained a pound of marijuana. The package was then delivered to Delong, according to the report.

State police applied for a second search warrant and at 9 p.m., searched Delong’s home on North Amherst Road and allegedly found “a significant marijuana growing operation and evidence of the distribution of controlled drugs,” including 81 marijuana plants, 4 lbs. of processed marijuana, 4 oz. of MDMA (“Molly”), and money. The street value of the drugs was around $190,000, according to Hall.

Delong was arrested and arraigned in Merrimack District Court and held on $25,000 cash bail.
