Bedford's Whole Foods Market is Now Open
Popular grocery store chain opened its second New Hampshire location this morning at the old Wayfarer Inn location on South River Road.

BEDFORD, NH - It was another bread breaking ceremony for Whole Food Market – this time, in Bedford – on April 8, 2016, for the opening of the company’s second New Hampshire location.
The store, located at 121 South River Road in Bedford, at the previous location of the historic Wayfarer Inn, features 43,000 square feet of retail space. The store employs more than 150 people including more than 100 new hires from within the company.
“We felt that we had a responsibility to the Bedford community to celebrate the significance of this site,” said Philip DeVito, store team leader of Whole Foods Market Bedford in a statement. “We are proud to say that elements of the Wayfarer will live on within the walls of this Whole Foods Market store.”

Not unlike other stores, the Bedford location features juice and coffee bars, an in-store bakery, in-store prepared takeout, and a pub. The company’s Whole Kids Foundation also made a donation to the school garden at the Peter Woodbury Elementary School.
