Child Died From Blunt Force Trauma: NH AG

Breaking: The death of Jacob Pelletier, 2, of Manchester, is now considered a homicide case, according to officials.

CONCORD, NH — The death of a child in Manchester two days ago is being ruled a homicide, according to state officials. Jacob Pelletier, 2, of Howe Street in Manchester, was rushed to Elliot Hospital on Dec. 11, 2017, due to what cardiac arrest, according to first responders at the scene at the time. The child was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office released details today of the state medical examiner’s autopsy on the child yesterday.

“(The doctor) determined that his cause of death was blunt force trauma to the abdomen and the manner of his death was homicide,” according to Susan Morrell, a senior assistant attorney general. “The investigation into the circumstances that led to Jacob’s death is ongoing.”

A GoFundMe.com site was set up two days ago by a Londonderry woman to help the family offset the cost of the boy’s funeral. At post time, the effort had raised almost half of the $10,000 goal.

Further information will be provided consistent with maintaining the integrity of the investigation, Morrell noted in a press statement.
