E-ZPass Prices to Drop

New Hampshire DOT says price drop effective April 1.

E-ZPass is getting easier.

Or cheaper, at least.

New Hampshire Department of Transportation reports that internal, windshield-mounted transponders will drop in price by 58 percent to $8.90, starting April 1. External, license plate-mounted transponders will drop in price by 54 percent to $15.19.

The previous costs were $20.95 and $33.04, respectively.

The lower pricing is due to a contract with manufacturer Kapsch TrafficCom IVHS Inc., according to DOT.

New Hampshire account holders will continue to receive a 30 percent discount for classes 1-4 and a 10 percent discount for classes 5 and over.

About 64 percent of all turnpike system transaction in the state use E-ZPass.
