Former C.R. Sparks Owner Running for Executive Council

Chuck Rolecek to challenge Bedford resident Bob Burns, others, for District 4 seat.

Chuck Rolecek, owner of Manchester's Hanover Street Chophouse and former owner of longtime Bedford staple C.R. Sparks, has announced his run for Raymond Wieczorek's soon-to-be-vacated District 4 Executive Council seat.

The Union Leader reports the 55-year-old Rolecek, who is also an advocate for expanded gambling in New Hampshire, joins fellow Republican , who serves as treasurer for Hillsborough County and the Bedford GOP.

Another Republican, Sen. Tom DeBlois and former Hillsborough County Treasurer Chris Pappas, a Democrat, have also announced their intention to run.

“I think this is the right step for me with my 35 years in the business, corporate and entrepreneurial worlds," he told the UL. "It's a great way to become a public servant.”
