Four Perish in NH House Fire

Numerous firefighters were called to Manchester to assist with a four alarm blaze at an apartment building on Wilson Street.

MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester Fire and Rescue teams were sent to an apartment fire on Wilson Street at around 5 a.m. on June 6, 2016, that took the lives of four people, according to online reports.

Multiple people were trapped in the three-story, 12-unit building, with firefighters working feverishly to get everyone out of the building. The fire ended up going to four alarms and one Manchester firefighter was also injured. Jeffrey Hastings of Frame of Mind Photography has more information in his Facebook post below.

The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office is at the scene investigating the cause of the fire, according to a post on Facebook. The New Hampshire/Vermont Region of the American Red Cross was also at the scene with volunteers to assist first responders and help those tenants who are now homeless.

Area firefighters – including Concord and Nashua – were called in to assist with mutual aid and coverage in the Queen City while the fire was fought.

The fire is still under investigation and a press conference is scheduled for later this morning.
