BHS Swim Teams Finish Runner-Up at States

Bulldogs and Lady B's take silver at UNH.

The Bedford High School boys and girls swim teams both finished runner-up at the Division I state swim championships.

Girls

Senior Kelsey Ewing won the girls 200-yard individual medley. Cassie Berger took sixth in the race and Lindsey Poremba was 14th.

Brook Carrobis eaned second in the 100-yard breastroke and Berger and Natalie Giraldi came in fifth and sixth, respectively. Sydney Fontaine was 14th.

Kathleen Bolton took fifth in the 200-yard freestyle.

Alana Westwater, Kamayo Okamoto and Giraldi finished fifth, sixth and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle and Kimberly Ginsberg finished 19th.

Okamoto came in fifth in the 100-yard backstroke followed by Ginsberg at seventh and Graves at 20th.

Ewing took third in the 500 freestyle. Bolton was seventh, Poremba was 14th and Katherine Berg was 18th.

Carrobis and Westwater placed sixth and seventh in the 100 freestyle.

Camille Hagan took eighth in the 100-yard butterfly.

The girls 200-yard medley relay team won, and the 200-yard freestlye team finished third.

Boys

Senior Milan Sandhu earned second in the boys 200-yard freestyle and teammates Zachary Grimmett and Karam Sandhu finished fifth and 12th in the event, respectively.

Gregory Levine edged teammate Riley Ewing for runner-up in the 200-yard IM, and Elliot Chun took ninth in the event.

Chun placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Milan Sandhu garnered runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly followed by Grimmett, at eighth.

Levine was runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle and Karam Sandhu and Dean Drukker came in seventh and 10th.

Ewing earned third in the 100-yard backstroke and Dave Delahunty, Nathan Schappler and Thomas Fortin came in 10th, 15th and 16th.

Matt McKee finished fourth in the boys 50-yard freestile and Dave Delahunty finished 10th.

Grant Drukker came in 11th in the 100-yard freestyle. Schappler, Matt McKee and Dean Drikker finished 17th, 19th and 22nd.

The boys 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relay teams each finished second and third, respectively The boys 200-yard medley relay team also took third.
