If Theo Epstein Leaves the Sox, Will He Break Another Curse?

Vote in our poll of the week and feel free to sound off as well.

In the midst of rumors swirling that Boston Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein may take a similar position with the National League's Chicago Cubs, we here at Patch wonder if the boy wonder will be able to break a second famous baseball curse should he take the Chicago job.

Sure, Epstein helped eliminate the Curse of the Bambino in Bean Town, but will he be able to dispatch the Curse of the Billy Goat as well? No better day to ask the question than today because on this day, in 1945 Cubs fan Billy Sianis and his pet billy goat were ejected from Chicago's famed Wrigley Field during Game 4 of the World Series. The Cubs, who were up two games to one in the fall classic, fell to the Detroit Tigers, 4-3 in the series. That World Series appearance was the last for "The Lovable Losers" who have not won a Major League Baseball title since 1908, 10 years before to the Red Sox last championship prior to breaking their own curse in 2004.
