The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
A major problem in our District and the state is our soaring cost of energy. The state needs an all of the above plan including options that are already available. Cheap, clean and technologically available energy sources exist IF a bipartisan legislature can come together to solve this problem. Nuclear and natural gas are abundant energy options that provide long-lasting solutions that can benefit ALL NH residents. While wind and solar are limited, nuclear and natural gas are not. This is a VERY achievable goal if we have strong, dedicated and smart leadership that rise to meet this challenge.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am a pragmatic realist. I have taken difficult votes on the Town Council and School Board relating to clean water in the PFOA crisis and the Covid crisis in our schools. Both problems required immediate life-affecting decisions but also long-term solutions. I have helped solve difficult community problems where both sides of the issue had meritorious arguments. I will bring the same broad-based and receptive reasoning to Concord that I have exercised serving our town. I have one agenda and that is to preserve the beauty and livability of New Hampshire. In short, I have a proven, solutions-driven track record while some other candidates do not.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
A pro-growth economic environment. A fundamental belief in parental rights. A belief that the best educational decisions are made at the local level between parents, teachers and their students. I strongly oppose sanctuary cities. I believe that moderating taxes will attract businesses, encourage innovation and create jobs and opportunities for our children and others considering a move to our great state. I strongly support ALL of our Constitutional freedoms.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this position?
While on Town Council, spearheaded the solution to the school and town parking problem by bringing together both sides of the issue including all town department heads, school board and school superintendent. Took leadership, analysis and negotiation skills. Was on the Town Council when the PFOA crisis hit. Worked to implement immediate near-term solutions while framing a long-term plan. Played a pivotal role on the School Board during the Covid crisis. There were no winners in this crisis, but we got our kids back in the schools and managed through critical unknowns in the safest possible way while continuing to educate our children.
The best advice ever shared with me was…
Necessity is the motherhood of invention so embrace the unknown. Solutions will present themselves accordingly.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have been a coach of several teams in and around town. Sometimes consensus building is like coaching. It takes focus, intrepid dedication and patience. I am also an entrepreneur. Every day involves a need to think out of the box and find a way to get difficult things done. New Hampshire is an amazing place to live but not without challenges. To be sure all Granite Staters share in our blessings we need dedicated innovators to find solutions that preserve the New Hampshire Advantage. Please consider voting for me on September 10th and hopefully November 5th.
