Mass. Man Conceals Fentanyl In Mouth, Overdoses: NH Cops
Louis Martinez of Dorchester was hospitalized after allegedly stuffing 7.7 grams of drugs in his mouth to escape arrest today in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, NH — A Bay State man was hospitalized this morning after allegedly attempting to conceal drugs in his mouth, according to police. At around 2 a.m. on April 5, 2018, a concerned citizen contacted Queen City police after seeing a possibly intoxicated man in the area of Auburn Street between Beech and Union streets. After officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly observed Louis Martinez, 38, of Dorchester, MA, “on the ground convulsing and foaming at the mouth from what appeared to be an opiate induced overdose,” according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department.

“(Martinez) was treated by AMR Ambulance personnel and loaded into the ambulance,” O’Keefe alleged. “Martinez spit a golf ball sized plastic bag from his mouth while inside of the ambulance.”

The bag allegedly contained 7.7 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl.
Martinez was charged with possession of a controlled drug. He remains hospitalized, according to O’Keefe.
