Mont Vernon Teen Arrested On Reckless Operation Charge

Bedford Police: Noah Hodges was arrested after allegedly running a red light and then, driving more than 90 mph on Route 101.

BEDFORD, NH — A local teen was arrested last week after allegedly speeding on Route 101 and blowing a red light, according to police. Noah Hodges, 18, of Mont Vernon, was arrested on June 4, 2017, for reckless operation. According to police, at around 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, an officer working traffic enforcement at Route 101 and Constitution Drive reportedly saw a Subaru “run a red light on Route 101 while driving more than 50 mph in a 35 mph zone,” according to Chief John J. Bryfonski of the Bedford Police Department.

“The officer began following the vehicle as it traveled onto the Route 101 split and continued to increase in speed as it approached the Plummer Road overpass,” Bryfonski stated in a press release. “The officer then measured the Subaru's speed at over 90 mph on the highway's straightaway.”

As the officer continued to follow the vehicle, he reportedly leveled off his speed at 103 mph and maintaining a short distance between the vehicles. After closing the gap, the Subaru was pulled over and Hodges was arrested. He was released on $750 personal recognizance bail.
