NH Man Gets 40+ Years On Murder, Assault Charges

MANCHESTER, NH — A Salem man convicted of murder and assault has been sentenced to decades in prison, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General. Joel Martin was sentenced on June 28, 2017, in Hillsborough County Superior Court for murdering Darrell Robinson and assaulting two other men on May 9, 2015, at the Drynk nightclub on Old Granite Street. On the murder conviction, Martin received 40 years to life plus restitution.
Martin also received 10 to 30 years plus restitution and a concurrent 10 to 30 year sentence on two second-degree assault charges. He was also sentenced to a concurrent 5 to 10 year sentence on a felon in possession with a weapon charge.
Martin stabbed Robinson after a fight at the club and he fled the scene. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was caught in Boston on a fugitive from just charge two days later, according to reports on Patch two years ago.

Previously, according to reports, Martin was convicted in June 2008, in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North of sale of a controlled drug as well as armed robbery in July 2007, and robbery in September 2008, in Rockingham County Superior Court.
