NH Man Wanted After Alleged Shooting In Manchester

A manhunt is under way for Keenen Velasquez, 20, for allegedly shooting at another man as well as hitting a postal truck.

MANCHESTER, NH — A Queen City man was priors is wanted on an alleged attempted first-degree assault charge after a shooting in Manchester yesterday, according to police. The department seeking tips about where Keenen Velasquez, 20, of Manchester, is located. At around 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 21, 2018, officers were sent to Lake Avenue for a report of shots fired.

The victim – who was reportedly armed when police arrived at the scene – claimed that he was working on a vehicle when Velasquez allegedly approached him and fired three shots at him.

“Fortunately, the 36 year-old man was not injured as a result of the attempted assault,” according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department, but officers did locate a damaged United States Postal Service truck parked in front of 395 Lake Avenue. Officers located a bullet hole in the rear passenger fender of the unattended mail truck.”

Velasquez is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs around 200 lbs., and has brown eyes and black hair. He is considered to be armed and dangerous at this time, O’Keefe alleged.
