Nine Bedford Residents Complete Boston Marathon
Bedford nine post solid times competing in record-breaking heat.

That's what nine Bedford runners endured, and accomplished when they crossed the finish line in Boston this afternoon.

Many of their counterparts either decided to forgo this year's run or dropped out during the race due to the record-breaking 87 degree high temperature in Boston today.
Not the Bedford nine, however.

Indeed, 45-year-old Paul Arnond was the first local to complete the trot. With a net time of 3 hours, 27.26 minutes, he took 267th place among 45- to 49-year-old men.
Kathleen Keys was the first Bedford female to finish. The 43-year old completed the marathon in 3 hours, 43.45 minutes, good enough for 153rd among women in her age group.
Giuseppe Le Pera, 45, also broke the 4-hour mark. He garnered 635th place with a time of 3 hours, 44.43 minutes.
Meanwhile, Leanne Vaillancourt, 23, and Steven Burke, 52, fell just short of four hours, completing their run with times of 4 hours, 33 seconds and four hours, 1.55 minutes, respectively.
Other Bedford residents finishing the run include Monique Graves (4:23:21), Thomas Synan (4:24:06), Ronald Gagnon (5:34:27) and Mark Ilaria (5:45:18).
