Nyquist Launches Another Bid for State Senate

Attorney and Democrat seeks to be collaborative and consensus builder for District 9; previously ran in 2012 and 2014.

NEW BOSTON, NH – Attorney, father, and community leader Lee Nyquist announced his plans to run for the tossup seat in State Senate District 9 on June 13, 2016, in a press statement.

“I am running for the State Senate to advance the interests of our New Hampshire families,”  Nyquist said. “I will continue my work as a collaborative consensus-builder, and will work tirelessly to craft legislation that keeps our economy moving forward, advances our public education system, and protects the health of our communities by making our state’s Medicaid expansion permanent and addresses our opioid crisis.”

A pillar of the New Boston community where he has been Town Moderator for 24 years, Lee has worked tirelessly to bring people of different perspectives together for the common good. As a community leader, Lee knows that when our families are strong our communities are too, so as a state Senator he will use his legal training to be a fierce advocate for New Hampshire families. As chairman of New Hampshire’s Unemployment Compensation Advisory Council Lee has earned the respect of leaders from both the business and labor communities for his collaborative fair-minded approach to leadership.
Running against one of the most intensely partisan Senators in the state Senate,  Nyquist will be a welcome change of pace for District 9.

“I look forward to continuing to listen to residents of Bedford, Dublin, Fitzwilliam, Greenfield, Hancock, Jaffrey, Lyndeborough, Mont Vernon, New Boston, Peterborough, Richmond, Sharon, Temple, and Troy about the issues that matter to them,” he said. “But from the conversations I’ve had so far, it’s clear that our community wants a Senator who will collaborate with other Senators to combat our opioid crisis, advance our public education system and ensure it gives Granite Staters the skills and education they need, and support our hardworking families by sponsoring legislation to provide paid family and medical leave.”
