According to police, on Jan. 4, 2016, Lambert was in a vehicle that reportedly followed a local elderly woman home from a gas station on South Willow Street to an apartment complex on South Porter Street. It’s alleged that after arriving at her apartment complex, Michael Bontaites, a 23-year-old with a lengthy criminal history, got out of the car and allegedly attacked her with an intention of robbing her. The grandmother – who had a concealed carry permit – pulled out a handgun, shot Bontaites, and then ran into her apartment building and called 911.

Bontaites fell to the ground and was assisted by a woman from his vehicle. The sedan sped out of the complex and headed to the ER where police later caught up with Bontaites and arrested him.
Another man who was also in the vehicle – Zack Boyd – was arrested on an unrelated charge later in the evening.
Manchester Police then issued a press statement and began a manhunt to find Lambert and a second alleged accomplice – Amanda Gurley, who is still at-large. Gurley, who is pictured right in the composite photo, is also wanted for violation of bail conditions.
