Pair From The Queen City Arrested On Robbery, Gun Threat Charges
Liston DeSilva and Malachi Thwaites were accused of robbing a woman on Dec. 29, 2023; cops say DeSilva fired a gun during the incident.

MANCHESTER, NH — Two Queen City men accused of robbing a woman on Second Street in December 2023 have been arrested.
Liston DeSilva, 28, left, and Malachi Thwaites, 28, both of Manchester, were arrested on robbery and gun threat charges Wednesday after a multi-week search for suspects.
On Dec. 29, 2023, police were sent to the area of Cleveland and Second streets for a report of an armed robbery. Dispatch told officers a woman said she had been robbed and a gun had been fired during the altercation. Dispatch was speaking with the woman while police headed to the scene.

Police arrived and spoke to a woman as well as another witness who stated two men approached them, pointed a gun, and robbed them, Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the Manchester police, said.
“Afterwards, one of the men fired a gun,” she said. “No one was hurt during the altercation, but officers did find shell casings in the area.”

Officers spent weeks investigating the incident, which led to warrants issued against DeSilva and Thwaites. Both were arrested on Jan. 24. DeSilva was charged with robbery, criminal threatening with a firearm, and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, all felonies, while Thwaites was charged with robbery and criminal threatening with a firearm, both felonies.
