PHOTO GALLERY: Historical Society Honors Veterans

Restored 33-star Civil War flag also unveiled.

Members of the Bedford Historal Society were joined by Boy Scout Troop 414, the Bedford High School band, dozens of local residents and several veterans including Town Council members Bill Dermody and Ken Peterson when they held a Veterans Day ceremony at the historical Bedford Town Hall today.

The event also featured the unveiling of a restored 33-star Civil War flag donated by Richard and Mary Ellen Letarte and a speech on the history of the American Flag by unofficial Bedford town historian Doris Peck Spurway.

A plaque for the recognising the Town Hall's status on the National Register of Historic Places, donated by Priscilla French Curry, was also unveiled, and several locals brought wartime memorabilia, photos and medals.
