The Bruins celebrated their first title in 39 years in front of a packed TD Garden last night.

The game itself was decidedly tame.

Indeed, the vast majority of the fans in attendance were there for the pregame celebration.

They were there to experience their piece of the Bruins 2010-'11 Stanley Cup title.

So despite the fact the hometown hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision to the hated Flyers of Philadelphia in the 2011-'12 season opener, the mood on Causeway Street prior to and following the game was celebratory.

By coming back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Vancouver Canucks in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in June the Bruins won their first title in 39 years, and the nearly 18,000 fans who packed the TD Garden last night were treated to a lengthy ceremony recognizing the players and coaches who contributed to the unlikely run.
