Police Seek Assistance with Store Robberies
Alleged robber flashed a handgun at one incident in the Queen City this weekend; two other stores were held up at knifepoint.

According to Officer Mark Ampuja, police were called to the store at just before 3 a.m. for a report of a robbery. The clerk alleged that two male subjects, with their faces covered in bandanas, came into the store and robbed the clerk.
“One of the suspects held a handgun, pointed it towards the clerk and demanded the money,” Ampuja stated. “The clerk complied. The suspects then left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.”

On Saturday, there were two other robberies at stores in the Queen City, according to police.
At around 10 a.m., police were called to Jon O’s Market on Front Street for a robbery where a man with a hat and shirt covering his face, approached a clerk with a knife and demanded money.

At around 8 p.m., police were sent to the Sunoco Kwik Stop on South Willow Street for another robbery report similar to the one a Jon O’s. The clerk alleged that a man wearing a hat and shirt covering his face approached the clerk with a knife and demanded money.
“Detectives are investigating to see if these incidents are related,” Ampuja said.
