Nearly 4,000 Without Power in NH

Breaking: Gusty winds, at least one crash causing power outages, pole damage around the Granite State.

CONCORD, NH — Random – and scattered – power outages are being reported by New Hampshire’s utility companies due to gusty winds around the state as well as accidents, according to online alerts. At just after 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2016, Eversource was reporting more than 3,600 customers without power, including nearly 2,400 in Weare alone.

Other smaller outages — between one and about 400 customers — were being reported in Barnstead, Bedford, Canterbury, Dunbarton, Epping, Francestown, Goffstown, Henniker, Hollis, Hudson, Keene, Mason, Merrimack, Nashua, Nottingham, Raymond, Rindge, Wilton and Windham.

Unitil is reporting more than 80 customers in Canterbury are without power at this hour.

Liberty Utilities is reporting no outages at this time but is dealing with a crash scene on Lawrence Street that damaged a utility pole, according to police.
