“Upon arrival Officers met with management and learned that a customer had alerted them to the child in the car,” according to Sgt. Christopher Biron of the Manchester Police Department. “Management made announcements in the restaurant attempting to locate a parent or guardian, however no one replied to their attempts. After the police arrived on scene the father of the child made himself known to police.”

Officers later discovered a male – Mohamed – who had “been inside the restaurant for nearly 30 minutes while he held a conversation with his back toward the vehicle.” Biron alleged, “He was unaware of his daughter’s circumstances as he could not see the vehicle.”
The child, he reported, was secured in a car seat, with the windows rolled up, and the vehicle was not running. It was 39 degrees at the time. Mohamed was then arrested and the child was released to its mother who was not at the scene at the time, according to police.
