According to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal here in New Hampshire, information from the Fugitive of the Week post issued in early October led to numerous tips from the Queen City, surrounding communities, as well as Florida. All of the leads were followed up with by marshals and investigators were able to determine that she was in the South Florida area, specifically Fort Lauderdale or Miami. Marshals here contacted marshals there and as a result of their work, Cable was picked up at the bus station and arrested without incident.
“After her arrest, Leela Cable was brought to the Broward County Jail, where she will be processed and held as a fugitive from justice on the outstanding Hillsborough County (NH) arrest warrant,” White noted. “Cable will be held without bail pending her return to Manchester to face these very serious charges.”

Those charges were from an incident in June 2014 where Cable allegedly stabbed another woman with a piece of glass from a broken liquor bottle. The victim alleged that Cable also punched her in the face, throat, and stomach, with a closed fist, according to press reports at the time.
In a statement, U.S. Marshal David Cargill Jr. said, “I am very proud of the work that the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force does on a daily basis. This case is a great example of how the Marshals task forces around the country work seamlessly together to track down dangerous fugitives like Leela Cable.”
Today’s arrest was made by officers from the U.S. Marshals – Florida/Caribbean Fugitive Task Force, deputy U.S. Marshals, and with the assistance of the Ft Lauderdale Police Department, according to White.
