WATCH: Dramatic Footage of Fatal NH Fire

NH Fire Marshals: Four people died after apartment building fire; investigation into origin, cause continues; more info expected Tuesday.

MANCHESTER, NH - New Hampshire’s fire marshal announced this afternoon that the department would be continuing its investigation into an apartment building fire on Wilson Street in Manchester on June 6, 2016, through tomorrow morning.

In a press statement, J. William Degnan stated that autopsies are being conducted on four people – two who died at the scene and two who died after being transported to Eliot Hospital.

“The joint-investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is ongoing this afternoon and is expected to resume tomorrow morning,” he stated. “No additional information regarding the cause of the fire will be released until the scene examination is completed.”

Manchester Fire and Rescue teams were called to 197 Wilson St. at 5:09 a.m. for a building fire. They arrived at 5:12 a.m. and found “heavy fire” coming from the rear of the building and requested multiple alarms. Four victims were immediately found after entry into the building, according to Degnan.
