Southern New Hampshire and the rest of New England have been anxiously awaiting kickoff for the big game for two weeks. For many Patriots fans the wait has actually been four years and two days, to be exact.
Now, the Pats have the opportunity to exact revenge on the Giants for a 17-14 loss on Feb. 3, 2008 that knocked New England from the pedestal of possibly the greatest team ever and left the team with the title of arguably the biggest disappointment.
Kickoff for the big game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana is scheduled for 6:29 tonight. NBC (Ch. 7 for local Comcast cable, DirecTV and Dish network customers) is carrying the contest, and pregame coverage begins at 1 p.m. today, with the actual Super Bowl broadcast starting at 6 p.m.
