Which High School is the Best in New Hampshire?

Only 14 Granite State high schools made the 2016 US News & World Report best high schools rankings released today.

Hopkinton High School is the best high school in New Hampshire, according to the 2016 U.S. World & News Report rankings, released on April 19, 2016.

U.S. World & News Report annually releases its rankings, which breaks down school and district statistics on a local and national scale. According to U.S. World & News Report, a number of factors were considered when compiling the list, including college readiness, student-teacher ratio, and other factors.

Hopkinton High School, which is listed as 1182nd in the United States, had a near average student-to teacher ratio but had one of the best college readiness scores – 39.7 – in the state.

Only 14 schools were ranked for New Hampshire. Many of the schools failed to list due to incomplete data or very low college readiness ratings, according to the study.

Sunapee Senior High School was named the second best school and Profile Senior High School in Bethlehem came in third. Goffstown was listed as fourth and Moultonborough Academy was fifth, according to the rankings.

Conant High School in Jaffrey, Exeter High School, White Mountain Regional High School, Hanover High School, and Bedford High School rounded out the Top 10. Hillsboro-Deering High School, John Stark Regional High School in Weare, Keene High School, and Monadnock Regional High School in East Swanzey also made the national rankings.

Windham High School scored a 43.7 college readiness score, second best in the state, behind Hollis-Brookline High School of Brookline, with Souhegan Coop High School in Amherst scoring the third highest, 42.9. All three schools, however, failed to make the list.
