Driver Dies During Rollover Crash Into A House In Chichester

Watch: Police and Chichester, Epsom, and Loudon firefighters and EMTs were sent to Bear Hill Road in Chichester on Thursday for a crash.

CHICHESTER, NH — Chichester police and firefighters are investigating a crash on Bear Hill Road on Thursday.

Before 11:30 a.m., capital region dispatch reported a rollover crash between the Suncook Valley Highway and Perry Road. A vehicle, reportedly a Toyota RAV4, crashed into a house near a propane tank. Chichester, Epsom, and Loudon firefighters and EMTs were immediately sent to the area.

As firefighters arrived, they warned others there were “icy areas” along the road and to use caution.

Firefighters found an SUV on its side, against the house, smoking, with heavy damage, one told dispatch. The driver was ejected from the RAV4. A few minutes later, the driver was reported dead while firefighters searched the SUV for “anyone else.” No other bodies were reportedly found inside the vehicle.

Around noontime, firefighters from outside of town went back into service, and a state medical examiner was requested to the scene later.

Officials at the scene said they expected to be there for at least a few hours. According to fire alerts online, the road remains closed.

No other information was available at post time.
