2-Alarm Fire Reported At Gallen Complex In Concord: Video
Concord, capital region firefighters battled a house fire on Howard Road on the state office complex on Sunday.
CONCORD, NH — Concord firefighters were called to Howard Road on the Hugh J. Gallen State Office Park for a fire on Sunday.
Fire and rescue teams were alerted to smoke in the area around 8 p.m. Initially, the call came in as a possible house fire on South Spring Street. But firefighters quickly found the fire on the state office complex.
Flames were seen coming from the eastern part of the building. Firefighters quickly extinguished the bulk of the fire while searching to find out if anyone was inside.

A second alarm was called just before 8:30 p.m. as firefighters were seen attempting to get to fire on the second and third floors.
Firefighters from around the capital region, including Chichester, Hooksett, Henniker, Boscawen, Loudon, Pembroke, and Hopkinton, arrived to assist and also covered the city.

The home at 5 Howard Road is state property and part of the complex. Work was being performed on the building and an area of the yard was roped off. The building was acquired by the state in 2006, according to the city’s assessing records.
As of 9:30 p.m., firefighters were still at the scene working to extinguish the fire.
