2 Crashes Snarl Traffic On Route 106 In Loudon

Multi-vehicle crashes were reported in the center of town which lead to the roadway being closed for about an hour on Wednesday.

LOUDON, NH — Two accidents, within about 30 minutes of each other, led to police and fire closing down Route 106 for about an hour on Wednesday.

Just after 3:15 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to Route 106 north near Tote Road for a two-vehicle accident. Capital region dispatch reported minutes later there was entrapment in one of the vehicles. A second ambulance, from Chichester, was requested.

“There are multiple vehicles with heavy damage,” the first arriving firefighter from Loudon stated.

Later, a rescue team from both Belmont was also called in to assist.

While working on the first crash, a second accident was reported on Route 106 at Soucook Lane. Loudon firefighters reported two vehicles with moderate damage at around 3:45 p.m.

A number of tow trucks were sent to both areas to remove vehicles.

The roadway was closed for about an hour.
