2 Teens Face Alcohol Charges At Concord High School Football Game
The juveniles were cited and their parents requested to pick them up at Memorial Field on Friday; one also faces a resisting arrest charge.

CONCORD, NH — Two juveniles were given summonses on Friday during the Concord High School football game, accused of possessing alcohol.
Around 9 p.m., an officer working at the game spotted four juveniles under the baseball bleachers, possibly with alcohol, and requested backup. Later, he accused some of the teens of possessing alcohol. One of the juveniles could be heard yelling, “Are you kidding me?,” while the officer spoke with dispatch.
After talking with the watch commander, a decision was made not to brings the teens, who were of very young ages, to police headquarters as full custody arrests. The parents of the juveniles were called, and they were picked up.

Deputy Chief John Thomas of the Concord Police Department confirmed two juveniles were charged — one for unlawful possession and another on unlawful possession and resisting arrest or detention charges. Two other teens were taken into protective custody, too, but not charged, he said.
“It’s our practice,” he said, “to call a parent. If they are charged, they will be petitioned; it’s an adult violation. Then, they are released to a sober parent or guardian.”

Thomas agreed there had not been a lot of incidents at Concord High School sporting events during the past few years due mainly to light turnout during the coronavirus pandemic. There was a strong-arm robbery of a pre-teen by an older student involving a cellphone and a manhunt for the suspect three years ago at a football game.
Thomas said most of the games have been uneventful. With the uptick in attendance at games — Friday’s opener had a decent turnout, “the more chance arises” for incidents, the more people there are at games, Thomas said.
The Tide lost the game to Londonderry, 34 to 24. The team’s next game is away against Keene on Friday.
