Fire Marshals says, Get Alarmed New Hampshire, and take advantage of free carbon monoxide and smoke alarm distribution program.

FRANKLIN, NH — Tomorrow, the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal will announce a new program available for owner-occupied homes with children and/or older adults in 21 Granite State communities. The program – Get Alarmed New Hampshire – will distribute FEMA Fire Prevention and Safety Grants to Concord and Nashua as well as 20 other communities around the state. J. William Degnan, the state fire marshal, recommended that everyone have a comprehensive fire protection plan that includes maintaining smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, residential sprinklers, and planning and practicing a home fire escape plan.
“Smoke alarms and CO alarms save lives,” he said. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Concord NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

“This program will enhance the Senior Safety Day we organize every October, taking our program to the next level. We are pleased to be given the opportunity to fully alarm these homes by including carbon monoxide alarms,” Chief LaChapelle said in a statement.
