23 NH Teachers Nominated For Teacher Of The Year

Teachers from Amherst, Exeter, Concord, Hampton, Merrimack, Milford, Nashua, and other communities have been nominated for consideration.

CONCORD, NH — Twenty-three Granite State teachers will be feted in Concord on April 3, 2018, after being nominated to be teacher of the year next year, according to the New Hampshire Department of Education. The teachers will be displaying work that they and their students have been performing and then a formal ceremony will be held later in the day. Schools in the state nominate a teacher each year to be considered for statewide consideration and then the New Hampshire winner competes nationally.

According to Lori Kincaid, the department’s Teacher of the Year Coordinator, the program is a project of the Council of Chief State School Officers in partnership with the Voya Foundation.

“It is the mission of the National Teacher of the Year Program to honor our nation’s greatest teachers while providing rigorous professional learning for teachers to be leaders and advocates,” she noted. “This national and statewide award builds community awareness of our state’s finest educators, while providing positive messages about the teaching profession.”
