3-Alarm Brush Fire Reported In West Concord
Concord and capital region firefighters are battling a brush fire on Blackwater Road near the Webster town line.
CONCORD, NH — Concord and capital region firefighters spent multiple hours on Sunday battling a brush fire in West Concord not far from the city line with Webster.
Around 2:15 p.m., capital region dispatch began receiving reports from a fire tower that smoke was coming from the western part of the city, specifically around Blackwater Road and Horse Hill Road. More calls came in from residents in the area.
Firefighters requested forestry units and UTVs and found the smoke around 2:30 p.m. but could not find the fire at first.

Around 3 p.m., firefighters reached the fire, about three-quarters of a mile up the side of a hill off Blackwater Road, near a logging operation. The estimated burn area was about an acre, dispatch said.
“It’s an intense fire,” the battalion chief said.

The fire went to three alarms.
Firefighters from Hopkinton, Pembroke, Boscawen, Hooksett, Loudon, and Bow were all called to assist. Firefighters used tankers and water from a pond to fight the fire.

Firefighters are still at the scene, fighting the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at post time.
