3 From New Hampshire Net Unitil College Scholarships
Isabella Makabali of Stratham, Cooper Leppard of Concord, Isabella Minai-Azary of Epping are pursuing STEM degrees and each received $5K.

HAMPTON, NH — Three New Hampshire students, two from Massachusetts, and one from Maine received college scholarships from an electric utility company in late June.
Unitil, which offers electricity to Concord, Exeter, Hampton, and North Hampton residents, among other communities in the capital region and the Seacoast and Rockingham County, northern Massachusetts, and Portland, Maine, and other communities in those states, has awarded $5,000 to five students for pursuing degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) as well as a nursing student.
In New Hampshire, Cooper Leppard of Concord, a graduate of Concord High School, plans to study Global Health Studies at the University of Miami. Isabella Makabali of Stratham, a graduate of Exeter High School, plans to study Bio Informatics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. And Isabella Minai-Azary of Epping, a graduate of Portsmouth Christian Academy, plans to study Chemistry at the University of California Santa Barbara.

In Massachusetts, John McDermott of Gardner, MA, a graduate of Gardner High School, is undecided and looking at several STEM majors at UMASS Amherst. Olivia Leblanc of Lunenburg. MA, a graduate of Lunenburg High School, who is the child of a Unitil employee, also received a scholarship. She plans to study Nursing at Fitchburg State University.
Dawson Knapp of Sanford, Maine, a graduate of Sanford High School, also received a scholarship and plans to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maine.

“These six recipients were chosen from a large group of intelligent and motivated minds,” Unitil Media Relations Manager Alec O’Meara said. “We wish them well as they embark on their new adventures and continue to strive and achieve greatness.”
The program was established in 2011. Application packets for the 2022-2023 academic year will be available on Jan. 1, 2022.
