3-Year-Old Child Shoots Self In Parked Car: Cops

The child was med-flighted to Boston, police said.

HOOKSETT, NH — A 3-year-old child was seriously injured by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting in a vehicle parked in a driveway about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Hooksett Police Department said in a media release.

The child was taken to Elliot Hospital in Manchester and then "med-flighted to Boston with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries," the release said.

"All involved parties are cooperating with police," according to the release, which described the matter as an "open criminal investigation."
